Help with HTML

All web pages, personal or group, have to be saved in a directory called public_html. For personal users, this directory is created automatically and has a default index page and a number of pointers to sources of help. If you'd like to get a copy of the files, they are available for download. Those creating group web pages have to create their own public_html directory.

There are Computing Service courses that will teach you about writing web pages, plus self-teach tutorials available from Computing Service Reception. See http://training.csx.cam.ac.uk/ucs/ for further information and online booking. A number of HTML editors are available on the Managed Cluster Service to help you write files. If you choose to obtain a free html editor, do make sure it is up to date and produces valid code.

HTML dog contains articles and tutorials to help you with writing HTML. Control the appearance of your pages by using cascading style sheets rather than formatting inline.
