Desktop Services
Accessibility software on the Managed Cluster Service
The MCS systems are designed to be used by the widest possible audience and have included in the operating systems features that allow those with special needs to adjust their interface. Full details of how to use these features may be found in M351: Accessibility and Computing Service Facilities, which is available online as a pdf.
There are some assistive technology applications available on the general MCS machines: TextHelp Read & Write on the Windows PCS, and Inspiration, a mind mapping tool, on both the Windows PCs and the Macintoshes. Height-adjustable desks are available in the Phoenix User Area, Phoenix Teaching Room and the Titan Teaching Rooms, as is at least one PC with an adjustable resolution screen. The resolution can be adjusted on any Mac.
