MCS Applications and utilities under Linux (AY2011-12)

MCS Linux runs under OpenSUSE 11.4

Over the summer of 2011 various items of Linux software were added, upgraded or withdrawn; a list of the changes is available here. Plans for updates over the summer of 2012 will be published during the Easter term, at the same URL.

Many applications are available at all sites; however, a few of the applications are site-specific, and some are available at Computing Service sites but not at all managed cluster sites. Availability at a site is dependent on licence arrangements. Site codes are used where there is restricted availability of an application.

Applications available under the Unsupported Menus are not supported by the Computing Service and therefore not updated when new versions become available. If you wish an application to be upgraded and therefore supported please request this during the request and upgrade period.
