The following attributes (some optional) are stored for institutions and displayed on the main page:
- Acronym
- Name
- Address(es)
- Main phone number(s)
- Fax number(s)
- Main email address(es)
- Web page(s)

Five further pages exist for each institution:
- Contacts: These records are intended for information similar to that which appears at the head of institutional entries in the printed phone book. They can be much more extensive than the contact entries on the main page. Each item on the contacts page may include a description, list of names, phone numbers, email addresses, postal addresses and web pages.
- Members: The members page consists of a list of CRSids, names, email addresses and phone numbers (where the individual has not suppressed these items).
- Groups: This page lists groups belonging to the institution. For each group a link is provided to the group's own page. There are also buttons to allow institution managers to disown a group or to adopt an existing group, and to create new groups. The members' list is just a special case of a group belonging to the institution.
- Phone book: this is for administrators and gives a preview, based on current Lookup data, of how the printed phone would look if printed on a given day. It is mainly used in the run-up to the productiion of a new printed phone book.
- History: this provides a history of modifications to the institution's pages
Institutional data (including the information associated with members of the institution) can be edited by a nominated group known as the editing group for the institution. To contact the editing group for your institution, go to the institution's page in the directory and select the editing group from the bottom of the page; this will take you to a page about the group.
'Changing information about institutions in the directory' gives more information for institutional editors.
