Dragon Dictate Training
Training is available for those who wish to use their voice as an input mechanism instead of using the traditional method of keyboard and mouse.
The training concentrates on dictation, correcting mistakes and document creation using the voice. We do not support the voice control of mobile phones or any other device at this time.
Dragon Dictate - 1:1 Basic Training
This one-to-one session is for University staff, College staff and students who are new to speech recognition and want to get started with dictation. This 2 hour session will involve:
- Initial voice training to create a good voice profile
- Essential dictation techniques
- Correcting mistakes by voice
- How to improve the recognition accuracy
- Creating documents
At the end of the course the student will be able to produce notes and documents, navigate around a document and carry out their own training for input of new words and phrases using their voice.
We provide a voice recognition system for training sessions at the AT Service on the West Cambridge site. However, if you have the software on your own laptop you can bring the laptop, and your headset, for the training session.
A mobile training service is available, so if it is easier for you to have the training in your college or department this can usually be accommodated. You will need to have access to a suitable quiet room where the session can take place.
For information about one-to-one training sessions contact the AT Specialist with your requirements.
