DS-Repair

Description of service

This cover is an annual paid contract service between a University Institute and Hardware Support (HWS). It is a priority service, provided on-site when possible to diagnose and repair hardware faults. HWS will aim to respond within 24 hours to a service request, Monday to Friday, giving an estimated time to service the request. Cover is offered on a best effort basis.

What is covered?

Strictly limited to labour costs only. However, refurbished or second-hand part(s) will be used if available for which HWS will not normally make a charge e.g. power supply unit or hard disk drive.

What is not covered?

The contract does not cover the cost of new part(s), the display or any peripheral(s). HWS makes no guarantee on the availability of parts. Faults caused by other than failure in normal use (i.e. abuse, accidents, acts of God) are not covered. Lost of data is not covered.

Contract eligibility

Most manufacturers desktop computers. University Departmental or College owned desktop computers no older than six years' and in good working order at the time of taking out the contract.

101 + units £8.75* exc. VAT

For example a DS-Repair contract for 300 desktop computers would cost (10x£35) £350 + (90x£17.5) £1,575 + (200x£8.75) £1,750 = £ 3,675

A serial number must be provided for each desktop computer under contract. Contracts are aligned from 1st October to 30th September.
