Privacy Policy
This policy relates to personal data, as defined by the Data Protection Act 1998, held on the Hardware Support Job Entry Database.
Hardware Support uses a database to hold details of every job that is carried out for a customer. The database is effectively a copy of the jobsheet that is filled in by the customer and/or a member of Hardware Support staff. This data can be split into 2 parts:
Personal Data
Details kept are customer name, department or college, contact telephone number, and email address.
This information is held for 3 years and is used for accounting purposes, ie. invoicing and receipting.
Equipment Data
The rest of the database record relates to the equipment which the user has booked in for repair. This information is used as a fault history reference to assist the engineers in fault-finding.
