Installing the Sun compilers

Access to the Sun CD

If your Sun is on the Unix Support access list for the Sun CDs, then you can access it over NFS. See Restricted Access Software for details of the access list. Change directory to /net/nfs-uxsup.csx.cam.ac.uk/sun for all the Sun CDs.

# cd /net/nfs-uxsup.csx.cam.ac.uk/sun

The current compiler CD is SunStudio10 from the EduSoft bundle so we move to that directory.

# cd EduSoft/SunStudio/SunStudio10
# ls -F
sparc/          ss10.licence    ss10.licence2   x86/

Each of sparc and x86 contain a CD image

SunStudio10_Solaris_sparc.img
SunStudio10_Solaris_x86.img

Which you must either burn to CD to install from, or install as packages by hand having loopback mounted the CD. For more information see:
