The Java Tutorial
This is Sun's guide to writing Java. It is the online version of the Addison-Wesley book. It is continually being updated. The version we have is that of the 4th of March 2002.

JDK 1.5.0 Documentation
This is the documentation set that comes with the Java 2 Developers' Kit. The version we have here is that corresponding to JDK 1.5.0.

This is the documentation set that comes with the Java 2 Developers' Kit. The version we have here is that corresponding to JDK 1.3.1.

JDK 1.1.7 Documentation
This is the documentation set that comes with an older Java Developers' Kit. The version we have here is that corresponding to JDK 1.1.7.

JDK 1.2.2 demonstration applets
This is a collection of demonstrations that come with the JDK. There's very little description of what they do. Some have subdirectories for JDK 1.0.2 and JDK 1.1. The former will work on older browsers; the latter is likely to be faster and more efficient.

Remote stuff

JavaSoft
This is the web server for JavaSoft, the Sun company that developed Java and which still controls it. This is in the U.S.A. and the transatlantic link can be pretty poor at times. Your browser will need to be able to support tables but frame support is not required.
