Wireless networking
Configuring eduroam - Ubuntu 8.04 LTS "Hardy Heron"
Configuration steps
Make sure that you have your credentials (eduroam identifier and Network access token (username and password)) from the UCS Tokens service.
- From the menu select the networks icon (two monitors if you also have a wired network, a graph if wireless network only)
- From the menu that appears select eduroam

- In the dialogue box that opens

- enter your eduroam identifier in the Identity box
- enter your Network access token in the Password box
- If leaving the Key Type set to default does not work then set this to AES-CCMP
- Select Connect
Your computer will now be authenticated to the network, after that you should be able to access the internet. If you get an error saying that authentication has failed, double-check the above steps. If you are still unable to connect, then contact the Help Desk for assistance.
All the settings you have made are stored in your computer and should not need re-entering each time you connect to the eduroam network.
