eduroam - Removal of 802.1X profiles on OS X

JANET(UK) has signed up to a new TERENA contract for server certificates. The new certificate provider needs to be added to the 802.1X profile. This may require you to remove the current profile and then create the profile again

To do this:-

  1. Open System Preferences and select the Network icon
    System Preferences pane
  2. Select an available network that is not eduroam, such as Lapwing
  3. Click the Advanced button
    Networks pane
  4. Select the AirPort tab, select eduroam from the list of Preferred Networks and then click the minus sign to remove it.
    Networks list pane
  5. Now select the 802.1X tab and choose the eduroam profile, then click on the minus sign to remove it.
    selecting profile to remove
  6. Close System Preferences and, from Applications -> Utilities open Keychain Access
  7. From the login keychain, delete the network.tokens.csx.cam.ac.uk certificate and the WPA: eduroam password item (these can both be found under "All Items").
    selecting keychain entry to remove

Now REBOOT your computer.

After this you will need to add in the profile again.
